These are my random musings. Hopefully they will be witty, insightful, and frequently updated.
They can watch them over and over, forever and ever...

My kids are totally into Spongebob Squarepants, Danny Phantom, and Fairly Oddparents.

Oh man, the TV doesn't get turned from Nickelodeon until we have to tear them away to do homework, bathe, go to bed, etc.

Do you have the same problems with your kids? How do you get them away from the TV once they get started? I'm no pushover, and I do get my way over them eventually. But is there a way to get them off the TV without being the bad guy?

Spongebob Square Pants is the all time favorite around here....but I like Jimmy Neutron.

Our tv NEVER leaves Nickelodeon. My two year old throws a big fit when commercials come on or when they put that pre-teen crap (Zoey, Drake and Josh) on. I HATE when they do that...they should make a pre-teen channel for that and just leave cartoons on Nick.

Pfft...the only news I ever hear is on JU because I don't care enough to look it up or turn the channel.

Fairly Odd Parents, Drake and Josh, Jimmy Neutron and Cat Scratch are faves in our house. I like cat scratch...if we ever get a black cat I'm calling him 'mister blick'.

I used to like 'aaah! real monsters!', 'cat-dog' and 'cow and chicken'.

The old ones on Boomerang are popular at my house. Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tom & Jerry, and Popeye.

My son is just nuts about Popeye recently!

Mine have outgrown the stage. But they killed my TV watching.  Such that I went 2 years without a TV at all!  You cannot fight the kids for it!

It is a struggle for them to let me watch something I want. Even if it's something they would like, like Discovery Channel and the like.
They're young. I'm enjoying it...

We haven't had a problem at all since we dumped the cable. Now our TV is basically just a monitor. Kind of makes television watching less a priority. ;~D

I can't watch them anymore. The politically correct version that you're left watching has been edited to death.

even though she's only 1 1/2, PUF KU likes HI-5 the best, followed closely by The Wiggles. I really like Postcards from Buster, but I think she's too young. By the way, she went POTTY in her potty TWICE today!!!

That's a huge step for her at 1.5 years. Congratulations to you both.

Honestly, I've known soldiers that task was a challenge for.

My kids don't have cable in their bedrooms for this very reason. They have to ask to watch TV on the big one downstairs.

It's not really a problem for us, though I couldn't tell you why...perhaps only because we are selfish adults and our TV preferences take precedence.

I agree...both my boys were two and a half to three before they were potty-trained. As much as adults may try, children won't potty train until they're ready (when it happens really early, the children aren't usually potty-trained...the parents are). However, when a kid is truly ready, it works out beautifully.

That may be ahead of mine, actually. I've heard tell that little girls are easier to train in this regards, but that's all anecdotal.

As far as television habits, I know that mine watch too much. I have to make a conscious effort to ensure that they do other things as well (playing with their toys, reading books with them, playing outside). They watch just about anything... the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory right now, Veggie Tales Lord of the Bean last night... DVDs and VHS are as much a part of their habit as actual cable TV.

We're getting out of the house for the afternoon, at least.

Having 2 of each, I would say about the same.

We watched "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" last night. Good pro-family message.

Plus I love the Burton/Elfman magic.
